Praying
That she may have many
more birthdays, all to be more
happy that any in the past, with little
of labor, nothing of sorrow and worry and a world
of the richest, rarest pleasures and happiness unalloyed.
Every cent of this little gift to be spent in a way
not provided for already by the income of the
house, every cent to bring to the
sweetest girl in the world
some satisfaction to
her own dear self
not found in
spending the money brought to the family by the labors of
all the family. Wishing every penny were a piece of gold
and every dollar a thousand dollars, and with love that
cannot be estimated by dollars and cents, although it may
not always be seen in demonstration, still loving and loyal
he wants to be ever just
